Isle a Vache, Haiti

Submitted by Jim Lott
Haiti. Anchoring at Baie A Feret at the NW point at Ile A Vache for a few days is permitted without clearing inwards. The bay is very sheltered with good holding. For longer stays, clearance at Cayes about 5 miles away is required. Aside from fruit and vegetables from locals in canoes, there are no supplies available at Ile A Vache. The locals are desperately poor and any spare cordage, old sails, educational products, fishing gear or medical supplies are welcomed.
