Olympia

Lying at the very southern extremity of Puget Sound Olympia is an interesting stop for those with enough time to divert from the more normal cruising routes.

There are several mooring possibilities within 2 or 3 minutes walking time of the compact downtown area. The Olympia Yacht Club is very friendly and has space for 5 or 6 visiting yachts in its visitors pontoon for those on a reciprocal basis. Right next door to the Yacht club is Percival Landing with only limited facilities but right in the heart of the downtown area.

There is an excellent supermarket within 2 minutes walk of both these landings making Olympia a good place to reprovision.

The city has clearly made significant efforts to improve its waterfrontage and together with the impressive State Capitol building turn it into a tourist destination.
