Izumotaisha, the second most important Shinto Shrine is a 20 minute walk away. It is a bus/train/ free bus, to get to the Adachi Museum of Art, highly recommended, and an easier journey to go by train to Matsue castle, also excellent. Lighthouse and shrine north of Taisha a bus ride away.
