Hawks Nest Anchorage, Grand Turk. 21deg 25’.63N – 71deg 08’.13W as at 04.04.20


South end of Grand Turk island used as a safe anchorage by local dive and fishing boats using pre-placed moorings.
1. Anchorage.
a. Open approach from south and north of the main reef to the west; noting rocks marked on charts.
b. Can also access through the reef via cuts marked on charts; ideally done in good light.
c. Anchor in sand/grass (some rocks) in 3-5m.
d. Sheltered from any swell from north/north east/south/west.
2. Ashore.
a. Nothing ashore.
b. Could dinghy round to cruise ship terminal when it is functioning with its bars and cafes on the beach.
