We are pleased to onboard Izzie Harrison-Hall as our Pilotage Information Coordinator, succeeding John Lancaster-Smith, who has held the role with great dedication for three and a half years.
A longstanding member of the Royal Cruising Club, Izzie represented the younger members of the Club through her position as Cadet Captain (2016-2018), and has sailed all her life having grown up cruising upon her family’s gaff yawl, Gaivota, and sailing dinghies. She has her Yachtmaster qualification and now enjoys sailing with her husband and toddler (who had his first West-Country cruise this summer aged one!)
Professionally, Izzie works mostly in London for a marketing tech company and brings her data literacy, and cross-team communication skills to the role.
As Pilotage Information Coordinator, Izzie will work closely with our team of dedicated editors and authors to:
- Monitor and manage incoming pilotage information, submitted by generous contributors.
- Ensure all submissions are processed efficiently and made available to the wider cruising community.
- Uphold the highest standard and ensure the Pilotage Information platform achieves its mission in providing a platform for the sharing of vital pilotage information.

We extend our sincere thanks to John Lancaster-Smith for his commitment to ensuring the smooth running of Pilotage Information platform. During his tenure, John has supported the Foundation’s editors and authors, encouraged new volunteers to join the community, and motivated cruisers to submit pilotage information. He also most recently led the launch of the QR code campaign and the Pilotage Information web app - making it easier than ever for RCC members to contribute up-to-date pilotage information.
