Baleari (Italian edition)

Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca, Cabrera Menorca

This volume describes the coasts of the Balearic archipelago, consisting of the islands of Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca, Cabrera, and Menorca, each with its own unique characteristics. The author has been covering this specific cruising area for about ten years, knowing it well year-round. For this edition, he spent much of the summer cruising, conducting meticulous research and reconnaissance. The text has been updated primarily in its descriptions of the numerous ports and marinas, along with their generally excellent services available to yachtsmen. Another significant asset of this archipelago is its numerous anchorages, many now managed by buoy moorings to protect the marine heritage. However, surprisingly untouched corners remain—true natural gems nestled in magnificent landscapes of rocks and Mediterranean scrub. An introductory section illustrates the entire area from every angle, with particular attention to meteorology and nautical services. The volume is accompanied by 198 photos, many of them aerial, and 175 detailed and easily readable plans. The appendix includes a list of nautical charts for the Balearics published by the Spanish, English, and French Hydrographic Institutes. This provides sailors with all the tools they need to plan their voyage in this spectacular corner of the western Mediterranean, which has become one of the most sought-after destinations for international yachting.
